“We are being bombarded with toxins on a daily basis-and what we don’t know about those products may be harmful.” Dr. Don Colbert
What one thing can you do, starting today, to lessen your exposure to heavy metals?
…the oracle of one who hears the words of God, who has knowledge from the Most High, who sees a vision from the Almighty, who falls prostrate, and whose eyes are opened (Numbers 24:16; NIV)
Last week I introduced the subject of heavy metals that we’re continually being exposed to and how they can affect our health. It’s not a popular, nor an oft-talked about subject in most circles. However, more and more advocates of living healthy lifestyles are blowing the whistle on heavy metal toxicity.
In 1920, Weston A. Price, a dentist and nutritionist wrote certain dietary guidelines for health and longevity. His principles are timeless and extremely relevant to today’s “grab it and go” mentality. Following are some of his insightful and brilliant suggestions.
- Eat foods that are natural, unprocessed, and organic with no sugar except for the occasional bit of honey or maple syrup. (Where have you heard that before?)
- Eat foods that grow in your native environment. In other words, eat locally grown seasonal foods. (Much easier to do during this time of year.)
- Eat unpasteurized dairy products (such as raw milk) and fermented foods.
- Eat at least on third of your food in the raw form.
- Make sure you eat enough healthy fats, including those from animal sources, like omega-3 fats and reduce your intake of omega-6 from vegetable oils.
Today’s link also offers guidelines for reducing your exposure to heavy metals. Here are just a few of the things that you can do pro actively.
- Use glass, cast iron, carbon steel, titanium, and enamel cookware. Both aluminum and non-stick cookware are well known for their toxic dangers
- Avoid cosmetics with aluminum bases, mineral powders that contain bismuth, and aluminum-laden antiperspirants, which have been shown to increase your Alzheimer’s risk by 300 percent!
- Avoid vaccinations that inject mercury or aluminum directly into your bloodstream
- Avoid and remove dental amalgam fillings
- Avoid conventional household cleaning products
- Avoid smoking and second hand smoke as it causes cadmium poisoning
- Avoid conventional insecticides and herbicides
